The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) prices embedded emissions on certain goods imported into the EU (including, in its design, steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, electricity and hydrogen, with a transitional reporting phase). For Indian exporters in those sectors it is a customer and customs data problem as much as a climate one: you need defensible activity data, not a marketing GHG number.
